THE GATHERING OF HEALERS

            His face turned toward us. "And you," He said, "will be the healers. I have called you to care for, comfort and heal my children."

Their eyes sparkled with excitement. This is what they wanted, more than anything else.

And God, perceiving their anxiousness and enthusiasm, continued in a more sober voice.            "You need to understand what will be required of you."

            The tone in His voice quieted their excitement, and they looked intently into His eyes.     "To heal, you must understand. You must first learn, and to begin with, you may not understand your gift. You may question it. You may be outcast because of it. You may doubt yourself...or me."

No! They thought. Impossible! And God looked on them, knowing they could not comprehend what the world had in store for them, but He continued.

            "To heal, you must know pain. You must have an understanding, an awareness of the absence of peace, health, Light."

            Their thoughts tumbled over each other as they tried to comprehend the absence of what was so common to them. God continued, "There will be times that you lose your way and times, it will seem, that you cannot even heal yourself. But I have chosen you, because I know you. I know that you will find yourself...and me. I will send another to show you the way, the greatest of healers, to teach you. You will be given all that you need to do His work."

            He paused and looked around lovingly to His chosen group of children. Without Him speaking, they knew His thoughts:

                        Please, take care of them.

                        Your hands will be my hands.

                        Your words will be my words.

                        Your light will be my Light and

                        It will bring peace out of darkness.

 

            The Healers stood, clasped hands and formed a giant ring; an endless circle, never to be broken, and an unspoken vow to find and help each other complete the task that lay before them.

            Their Father looked upon them, His heart full of pride and love. A tear rolled down His cheek as He thought of what awaited them. He knew and understood the Teaching Fire they would journey through to become all that was intended for them. But He knew in His heart that these, His Chosen Ones, were unique. He knew they would remember who they are and that there would be a Great Healing of Souls and Passing of Light in the earth. He rejoiced with them and for them, and then sent them on their journey to do His work with a parting word of love.

            "I will be with you as long as you invite me. Please...invite me in. It will be my hands that guide yours, my heart that enlarges yours, my Spirit that expands yours."

            And their hearts were full of promise as they began their journey.
